We’re excited to be returning to The Rotutu Cooperative in East Timor for the second year in a row, bringing a fresh crop of their exceptional coffee.
Our sourcing partners on the ground, Karst Organics, have worked with Francisco de Deus (a third-generation coffee farmer) and his cooperative for the past four years. The cooperative brings together coffee from 18 smallholders, who harvest cherry from plantations that span between 1-3 hectares of land each.
Karst has helped the cooperative improve its infrastructure through hands-on support and education while also ensuring that the farmers receive a good wage for their produce. This combination of support helps continue the growth of employment rates within the community and further strengthen the cooperative’s interest in producing some of the regions most outstanding speciality grade coffee.
