DESCRIPTION

We’re thrilled to announce the return of Gayo Sesongot from Indonesia, a stunning coffee we’ve had the pleasure of showcasing twice before. Produced by Aulia Kahfi and neighbouring farmers in the Bebesen subregion of Sumatra, this special lot exemplifies innovation and quality in coffee production. Named after the striking “Sesongot” caterpillar often found among the coffee trees, this ‘Winey’ Natural lot delivers vibrant notes of cola, tropical fruit and iced tea.

Aulia Kahfi has been cultivating coffee on Rakyat Farm since inheriting it from his family. He has expanded his operations by sourcing ripe cherry from neighbouring farmers in areas like Lukup Sabun, Pantan Sile, and Ratawali. This ‘Winey’ lot is crafted using an anaerobic fermentation process, where cherries are carefully fermented for 20-25 days before being washed and dried to perfection. Aulia’s commitment to quality has earned him recognition, including placing 9th in the 2019 Sumatra Prestige Cup for his exceptional wet-hulled coffee.
