Description
Description
Grown on the fertile slopes of Mount Kenya in Kirinyaga County, Ngunguini Washing Station has been producing exceptional Kenyan coffee since 1958 as part of the Kibirigwi Farmers Cooperative Society. At 1,600–1,800 meters above sea level, rich volcanic soils, cool mountain air, and ample rainfall create ideal conditions for SL 28, SL 34, and Ruiru 11 varieties.
Around 1,200 smallholder farmers handpick ripe cherries and deliver them the same day for meticulous washing, fermentation, and sun-drying on raised beds. The result is a carefully crafted coffee that reflects generations of expertise, vibrant terroir, and the proud heritage of Kenya’s highlands.
