Attended the Home Barista Course at Clifton Coffee’s roastery today which was excellent. Although equipment is provided, there is the option to bring your own equipment which most of us did and meant we could try out the techniques on our own kit … and fix some of our faults! Very relaxed delivery style from Rob, who was extremely knowledgable and kept the course both approachable and engaging for everyone, with a high level of hands on content … learning how to dial in your beans correctly and to get consistently great milk texture.
Added bonus was a tour of the roastery to see how the coffee is taken from a sack of raw ‘green’ beans to a black bag of freshly roasted beans waiting to go out to the customer.
Final nice touch was a complimentary bag of coffee to take home in a tote bag, and the option to purchase some of the kit being used at a discount. -

We had a brilliant time on the Home Barista Course at Clifton Coffee Roasters. The whole experience was really relaxed, friendly and informative, and we came away feeling like we’d learnt so much.
Everything was explained in a really easy-to-understand way, from getting the grind and extraction right through to milk steaming and creating proper café-style coffees at home. There was plenty of hands-on time to practise too, which made such a difference.
The team were incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about coffee without making anything feel overly technical or intimidating. I picked up loads of little tips that I’ll actually use at home and definitely feel much more confident using my coffee machine now. -
